Today’s Word: The Unprofitable Servant (Part 2)
Today’s Bible Reading: John 15: 16 (ICB) – “You did not choose me, but I chose you. And I gave this work, to go and produce fruit. I want you to produce fruit that will last. Then the father will give you anything that you ask for in my name.”.
In Luke 13:6-9, our Lord Jesus told the story of a man who planted a fig tree in his garden and returned again and again but found no fruit. After three (3) years of disappointment, he wanted to cut it down.
The gardener pleaded for one more chance: to do all he could to make it bear fruit in a year.
God’s word in John 15:1 lets us know that Jesus is the vine, we are the branches, and God is the gardener. God cuts off branches that do not bear fruit but prunes the branches that bear fruit.
Dear friend, God is pruning you and me through his word today. He wants us to bear much fruit. How profitable are you?
If the Lord were to review your service, would he say, ‘Well done’ or ‘I will give you one last chance?’. Examine yourself; your service must be increasingly profitable for God’s kingdom.
Today’s Prophetic Declaration:
In the name of Jesus, today, I receive grace to be a fruitful servant in God’s house. May my life begin to bear better fruits and results from today.
