Today’s Word: Living out God’s Love (Part 2)

Today’s Bible Reference: John 13:34 ICB – “I give you a new command: Love each other. You must love each other as I have loved you.”

A commandment is a divine rule, an order or a command. This means that obeying it is inexcusable. As believers, we are children of God, and whatever our Father asks us to do is for our upliftment and profit.

Under the old covenant and commandment, we were told to commit to doing certain things – don’t steal, tell lies, bear false witness, covet your neighbour’s properties, and so much more.

But Jesus came and said, “I present to you a greater commandment – walk in love with your neighbours.”. This one commandment of love fulfils other commandments. Everything else is captured in this commandment.

If the love of God rules your heart and you walk in love with others, you will not lie, steal, or bear false witness against anyone.

Dear friend, we have been commanded to walk in love and can do this by God’s grace.

Today’s Prophetic Declaration:

In the name of Jesus, I declare that there is no hatred in me. I declare that God’s love rules over my heart, and God’s wisdom guides me in all things.
