Topic: HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD (Part 4)

Bible Text: “Call to me, and I will answer you and tell you [and even show you] great, and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.” – Jeremiah 33:3 AMP

One of the most beautiful things we read about in the Bible is Samuel being in the temple by the ark and hearing God’s voice. (1 Samuel 3:5). The place he dwelt contributed to the voice he heard.

Samuel’s experience exemplifies the importance of prioritising God’s presence and being in the right atmosphere to hear his voice. While we may desire to hear from God in some unusual and strange ways, he mostly wants to communicate with us through his word and from the place of prayer. This is why we need to spend more time with Him to understand his leading better.

Friends, to hear God’s voice, we need to sustain the right atmosphere around us. When surrounded by things that don’t build or strengthen our spirit, we will walk in the flesh and find it hard to discern God’s leading on anything. Remember, Samuel was by the ark in the temple when he heard God’s voice. Atmosphere is everything.

1. Daily, ask the Lord for a discerning heart.
2. You will hear God’s voice if you discipline yourself to worship Him even in difficult times.
3. Every day, expect to hear from God on all issues.

In the name of Jesus, I declare that I rightly discern what the Lord is saying to me and how the Lord is leading me.
