Topic: THINGS OF GREATER VALUE (Part 3)

Text: “Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that on earth [which have only temporal value].” – Colossians 3:2, AMP.

The ability to confidently state where your priorities lie is a valuable skill to have; acknowledging that you cannot do everything and developing a sense of priority is important.

We will be able to live more productively and meaningfully once we have determined what is most important to us. It is also vital to note that you cannot have too many priorities because this reflects a lack of focus.

Many of us have allowed ourselves to be distracted by the opinions and perspectives of others because we don’t know what is more important to us. You allow those who haven’t figured out their lives to tell you how to live yours.

When you allow a distraction to become your attention, you will waste valuable resources on unimportant things.

When you realize what really matters in your life, you will feel a peace that can’t be shaken, and you won’t waste your resources on things that don’t matter.

While your priorities will most likely change as you get older, it is important to note that when you have the right priorities, you will have a realistic view of life, which will help you get more done in less time.

Many people waste time, abuse relationships, and miss out on great opportunities because they don’t understand what truly matters.

An important prayer we should pray daily is for the Lord to help us identify and focus on the things that truly matter. When you get your priorities right, you will realize that you didn’t have a money problem or whatever else you thought was the issue; you just had a priority problem.

Daily, you must win over the internal battle to keep your priorities right.
