Topic: THE MIND OF LEADERSHIP (Part 6)

Text: “…Be an example to show the believers how they should live. Show them with your words, with the way you live, with your Love, with your faith and with your pure life.” – 1 Timothy 4:12, ICB.

If you walk into any library today, I am confident you will find a wealth of resources on leadership. If you search the internet, you will also find many inspiring quotes and articles about leadership.

However, as Christians, we have an outstanding leadership model in Jesus. His approach was ideal, and we will be better if we observe and apply his principles.

In Acts 1:1, the writer said something striking to introduce his testimony about Jesus. He says, “The first account I made, Theophilus, was [a continuous report] on all the things that Jesus began to do and teach.”

Here is a key lesson we can draw from his introduction: Jesus was more than just a “talking” leader; he was a “doing” leader. Effective leadership involves “talking the way” and “showing the way.”

Every Christian is a leader in their own right because we are called to be lights in our communities. So, in addition to “talking,” we must “show.”

Those who lead by example are always inspiring. Lifestyle leadership leaves the most profound impression on people’s hearts.

Don’t just talk about Love; be a reflection of it. Do not just talk about diligence; be a reflection of it. This was Jesus’ leadership example. Our actions speak louder than our words. This is why we must be careful not to say things we don’t do.

We must learn to lead from the front and be proud to invite others to follow us. This is one of the inspirations we get from the leadership style of Jesus.
