Topic:  LORD, WHY CAN’T I SERVE YOU? (Part 6)

Text: “Martha became angry because she had so much work to do. She went in and said, Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me alone to do all the work?” – Luke 10:40, ICB.

Mary, Martha and Lazarus were friends of Jesus. Jesus came to visit them, and Martha set out to prepare a feast. This must have been a lot of work, and Martha must have been very busy.

On the other hand, Mary sat at Jesus’s feet, listening to him and asking questions. 

This upset Martha, and she complained to Jesus. Jesus told her that the most important thing was what Mary chose to do.

To serve God effectively, we must make time for the God of the work. The more time we spend with him, the better our service to him. 

Serving God is important, but spending time with him before you go out to serve is the most important thing. Those who spend time with God will be stronger and better servants of God’s kingdom.

Today’s Task: Take stock of your prayer life and look for ways to improve.

God’s work done in God’s way will not lack God’s reward.
