Topic: A HELPING HAND (Part 9)
Text: “He must become greater. And I must become less important.” – John 3:30, ICB.
As God’s children, we must understand that no one has the power to sabotage our destiny, and no one can stop what God has planned for us.
This truth is essential for you to live a secure life and not be intimidated by the progress or good fortune in anyone’s life.
We must discover our truth in God and be secure in it so that the progress in anyone’s life will not threaten us.
Also, it is essential to understand and focus on your purpose. Be comfortable with your purpose.
The scriptures record an amazing incident. It is found in John 3.
The disciples of John approached him to notify him that people were now flocking to the guy he baptised.
In other words, “the man you baptised is now more popular than you, and his following grows daily.”
John’s response is remarkable and must have come from a place of understanding and security.
He said to his followers (paraphrased), “The man has what God has given him. I am not competing with him; I recognise and am aligned with my purpose. I am glad he’s making progress, and I am pleased to be a part of his story. My involvement in his life was purposeful; he must become greater, and I must become less important.”
John understood his role as a helping hand and was pleased with the success story of the person he had assisted. This is the mindset that we must adopt.
We must never be intimidated by anyone’s achievement but rather be genuinely happy for others.
Nobody can stop what God has for you, and the fact that someone is succeeding at something does not mean you are failing in life.
TODAY’S TASK
Decide to be an encouragement to everyone who is doing well in their field, and do not accommodate it when people try to undermine their efforts or success story.
WISDOM PUSH
Nobody has the power to hinder our destiny, and no one can stop what God has for us.
