Topic: ACTIVATING AND SUSTAINING DAILY HELP (Part 3)

Text: “You people who fear the Lord should trust him. He is your helper and protection.” – Psalms 115:11, TPT.

As we understudy the life of David, we discover that he was a skilled soldier, a great leader, and so much more. But no matter what people thought David had going for him, he always asked the Lord for help. As recorded in Psalms 86:1-2, David asked the Lord to assist him. I am poor and powerless. Save me; your servant believes in you. He said to the Lord in Psalms 86:7, “I will call to you in times of trouble because you will answer me.”

David knew how to activate and sustain God’s help. Aside from any qualities we may admire in him, divine help was a significant factor in his greatness. As we face life’s challenges, we must cultivate a culture of always asking God for help.

We must live in such a way that we always leave the door open for God to enter our problems and seasons and take charge. But here’s an important lesson: we don’t only need God’s help in our troubles; we also need His help in our blessings. Even in times of blessing, we need God’s daily help to live and carry ourselves. The help of God is what makes ordinary people do outstanding things.

Those who look up to God for help will not be brought down by what befalls others.
