Today’s Word:  AN UNDERSTANDING HEART (Part 3)

Today’s Bible Reference: Proverbs 2: 9,10 (NLT) – “Then you will understand what is right, just and fair, and you will find the right way to go. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.”

 

According to God’s word in Matthew 11:28, our Lord Jesus said, “My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Sadly, many people think that Christianity is a burden and that sinners have it easy.

Many people wrongly assume that God’s way is hard. In fact, God’s way is the winning way; his blessing makes rich and adds no sorrow. However, when we do not understand the power of God’s blessings, we will struggle to obey God’s commands. 

Joseph said to Potiphar’s wife when she tried to tempt him to sleep with her. “How can I sin and do this great wickedness against God?” (Genesis 39:9). What others would have seen as an opportunity for pleasure or an easy way out, Joseph saw as wickedness and a trap against a glorious future. It was the power of understanding at work.

No one in their right mind feels guilt or regret for rejecting poison. This is how we should feel about sin. Ask for God’s help and understanding when you struggle to obey God.

Today, I pray you receive the joy that comes from obedience with understanding. Enjoy supernatural understanding from today in Jesus’ name.

In the name of Jesus, I declare that, daily, I enjoy grace for a life of faithful obedience to God’s standard of living.
