Today’s Word: An Understanding Heart (Part 5)

Today’s Bible Reference: Proverbs 2: 6 (NLT) – “For the Lord grants wisdom. From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” 

Pursuit is the proof of hunger. People do not run after what they are not hungry or desperate for. God wants to give us wisdom and understanding, but we must be hungry for it – we must truly desire it.

God’s word in Proverbs 2:4 says, “Search for insight and understanding as you would for silver; seek for it like hidden treasures.”

We cannot grow in understanding without a hunger that makes us spend time in God’s presence.

Hunger makes you seek, ask, and knock, and this helps us find answers to questions we have and clarity on issues we do not understand. 

I ask you today, how hungry are you for spiritual understanding? Do you truly desire to hear God’s voice every day? Do you sincerely pursue a deeper relationship with the Lord? 

We must hunger for spiritual understanding every day, just like we seek the proverbial ‘daily bread’. Only then will we succeed and thrive on earth and in the things of God.

Understanding is like oil to a machine; having it makes serving and loving God easier and more enjoyable. 

Dear friend, seek the ‘oil’ of understanding above all else from today.

In the name of Jesus, I declare that the Holy Spirit strengthens me daily to know God better and better.
