TOPIC: BE READY FOR THE LORD.
Bible Text: “Then the Lord told Moses, “Go down and prepare the people for my arrival. Consecrate them today and tomorrow and have them wash their clothing. Be sure they are ready on the third day, for the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai as all the people watch.” – Exodus 19:10-11, NLT.

God instructed Moses to tell the Israelites to sanctify themselves by distancing themselves from anything unholy. All living things were to avoid contact with the mountain that God had set aside as the place where He would speak to His people.

This instruction was given because God is holy and desires that His people must also be holy. The holiness required by washing clothes, abstinence from sexual relationships, and all others are symbolic of how they ought to make their hearts clean and ready for the Lord.

Till today, God has not reduced the standard of holiness He expects from His people. On the contrary, he has called His people holy and expects them to be holy in all their endeavours. This call for holiness is not limited to any mountain, location, or time.

Believers must constantly be holy because the second coming of Jesus Christ can occur at any time. Therefore, we live ready for the coming of the Lord.

WISDOM PUSH:
1. Consecrate yourself today by living a holy life, prepared to meet the Lord.

2. Understand that God has not reduced the standard of holiness He expects from His people.
