TOPIC: BLESSED BY GOD (Part 3)

TEXT: “Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favoured by God] is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked [following their advice and example], Nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit [down to rest] in the seat of scoffers (ridiculers). But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season; Its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].” – Psalms 1:1-3 AMP

Knowing that the Lord has declared us blessed brings such an awesome feeling. We are blessed by God, not just any man. The limitlessness of God also manifests in the blessing of his children. Now, we must emphasize that there is the character and portrait of a blessed person. The commitment to discipline of a blessed man/woman causes them to walk in the full expression of the blessing of the Lord.

Psalms 1:1-3 enlightens us on the disciplines of a blessed person; we are told that blessed people do not follow the advice or examples of unbelievers, nor do they associate with those who believe they do not need God.

According to the wisdom from our Bible reading today, a blessed person cannot live anyhow; else, they would frustrate the manifestations of the blessing in their lives. There is a righteous focus that establishes the blessing of the Lord on a life.

Dear friend, as we declare that we are the blessed of the Lord, we must not be ignorant of the disciplines and lifestyle of a blessed person. There is how a blessed person lives; it must be to honour God and make others acknowledge and glorify the Almighty God.

Today’s bible texts remind us that as we honour the Lord through how we live, nothing will be powerful enough to question or hinder our fruitfulness.
