Those who live with the awareness of their purpose and assignment are never careless in their choice of association. They may be misunderstood and even criticized for being too principled, but they understand the power of association and the effects of influences on their lives.

Your association reveals if you have wisdom. Seeing who you closely associate with shows how much you value your life and future.

As carefully as you look at what you drink, you must also consider who you allow into your life. No matter how spiritually conscious you believe you are, when you are careless about your association, there will be a negative impact on your life.

Recall that scripture admonishes us in 1 Corinthians 15:33 that evil communications will corrupt good manners. The ICB translation of 1 Corinthians 15:33 puts it this way: “do not be fooled: “bad friends will ruin good habits.” Therefore, we must be intentional and purposeful in our association because they significantly impact our lives and contribute to the person we are becoming.

Invest time and effort into your relationships, and make efforts to see them grow because whatever you don’t give attention to will die.
