TOPIC: DISTRACTIONS (Part 2)

Text: “…And I want you to give yourselves fully to the Lord without giving your time to other things.” – 1 Corinthians 7:35, ICB.

A popular adage states that you will fall for anything if you don’t stand for something. If your focus is unclear or weak, you will succumb to distractions. Focus helps for discipline. Focus enables us to manage our lives and time wisely.

Every person who aspires to greatness and to make a significant impact in life must demonstrate a track record in winning against distractions.

Despite their exceptional abilities and hard work, Daniel and Joseph’s testimony is incomplete unless we highlight their triumphs over distractions.

Like Daniel and Joseph, you should be able to identify distractions. If you cannot identify distractions, you are probably already living a distracted life.

A distraction takes you away from what is truly important and timely. If you fail to conquer distractions, distractions may conquer you. Distractions cut short the greatness of Samson. Distractions conquered Judas. Distractions altered the course of Esau’s life.

Dear friend, we must become more careful and disciplined in how we spend our time and what we give attention to. We should never think that distractions don’t matter and that life will go as usual if we keep giving in to them.

Interestingly, when the enemy sends distractions, they never look like distractions until they are done distracting you. This is why we must be intentional that we will not be conquered by distractions with the help of the Holy Spirit.
