TOPIC: DISTRACTIONS (Part 4)
Text: “Keep your eyes focused on what is right. Keep looking straight ahead to what is good.” – Proverbs 4:25, ICB.
Understanding what distractions are will help us recognize them when they appear.
Distractions mean to draw away or pull away. It also means to divert attention away from one’s original intention or direction.
Distraction is anything that prevents you from rightly concentrating on God’s will for your life, purpose, or vision. A distraction could be a relationship, habit or even an opportunity.
What may seem right to one person may not be relevant to you. This is why you need to live with a sense of purpose and vision. Don’t let anyone push you down the wrong path. Do not live your life to impress others, but rather to express what God desires for you.
It is worth noting that not everything that appears to be an opportunity is a blessing. Accepting some opportunities will distract you from what should be your priority. So many people with potentially great destinies have fallen from grace to grass because of a destiny destroyer known as distraction.
When you are able to identify and overcome a distraction, you will fulfil God’s purpose for your life. Those who prevail over distractions become the attraction of their generation.
Make it a habit to always ask the Lord for wisdom in identifying and overcoming distractions.
WISDOM PUSH
Many things will capture your eyes; pay attention to the ones that capture your heart.
