TOPIC: EARS THAT HEAR (Part 2)

Text: “Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.”- Mark 4:15, NIV.

The ears are like a highway with information passing through to the brain, the soul or the spirit. But in the same way, things can go in; they can also go out or be forgotten or lost.

The Bible speaks in James 1:24-25 of the forgetful hearer, who hears and does not obey. But how can there be obedience when the enemy has stolen the word from their hearts?

Many people go to church every week, read their Bible every day and cannot remember what they read before the end of the day. This is an attack of the enemy and must be handled as such.

You must pray over every word of God you hear and ask for God’s grace to retain it in your memory so that it guides your life. Consciously try to recall what you read or heard immediately and at random times during the day.

Also, take time to write what you learnt from the sermon or your personal study and return to your notes. Also, you can get a study partner to check in with to share what you learnt from God’s word daily to test your remembrance.

Refuse to let the word of God be stolen from you anymore.

Take out time to meditate on Mark 9: 14-15. Commit the verse to memory and say it at different times of the day.

The word you cannot recall cannot help you grow.
