TOPIC: EARS THAT HEAR (Part 3)

Text: “Everyone who hears the things I say and obeys them is like a wise man. The wise man built his house on a rock.”- Matthew 7:24, ICB.

The next thing a person does after receiving an instruction or counsel indicates that they truly listened and understood what was said. It would appear deceptive if you asked someone to pass or bring something to you, and they say they ‘heard’ you but did nothing.

The proof we heard and understood is revealed in our obedience. The evidence of a good listener is the changes they make based on what is said.

For many believers, many life-changing sermons and instructions have gone through one ear and come out on the other.

Deliberately choosing to go against God’s word is rebellion, and God doesn’t bless rebellion. In fact, the Holy Spirit gradually stops speaking to those who refuse to listen to his instructions and promptings.

Let us practice complete hearing by committing to obeying the instructions from our spiritual leaders, the sermons we hear and our personal bible study. 

TODAY’S TASK:

Think hard about any godly instruction you have received lately or in the past that you have not yet obeyed. Repent and commit to doing it now.

Hearing without obedience is equal to disobedience.
