Topic: EARS THAT HEAR (Part 4)

Text: “You are clean because of the words I have spoken to you”. –John 15:3, ICB.

If hearing the word of God can make us clean, then hearing words from demonic, inappropriate and negative sources can affect us negatively.

Back in the day, there was a song we would sing: ‘Be careful little eye what you see, be careful little ear what you hear…’

Nothing we hear leaves us unaffected. It is either positive or negative. Many people will listen

to anything and anyone without paying attention to whether it can affect their morals, perspective, or faith. An example is what people consume on social media.

No one is so spiritually protected that they can watch pornography, porn-rated movies, and even listen to songs with vulgar language and ungodly expressions and not be affected.

As believers, we must protect our spirit by protecting our ears. Be careful what and who you listen to, and double-check facts and information that comes your way. Treat your soul preciously and discard anything negative or ungodly you come across.

Spend more time listening to crucial information and things that help you grow. Take time to ‘wash’ your soul with worship songs, godly sermons and scriptures throughout the day.

When was the last time you read a godly book or a sermon that lasted more than an hour? Devote time to do this today.
