Topic: EXTENDING GRACE (Part 8)

Text: “And may the Lord increase your love until it overflows toward one another and for all people, just as our love overflows toward you.” – 1 Thessalonian 3:12, TPT.

It can be quite difficult to step outside of your world and see things from someone else’s point of view. This is a key reason many potentially fantastic relationships have gone sour. Not many are willing to make compromises for the other.

Not everyone will share your beliefs and values; having this understanding will make it easier for you to gain perspectives from your interactions and relationships with others. Our failure to connect with others at their level will hinder the gains we are supposed to make in relationships.

As a Christian, appreciating the perspectives of others doesn’t mean compromising your values; it just helps you relate with others with an understanding and better appreciation of their experiences and approaches to issues.

Some relationships fail to get any better because of clashing opinions on things. Sometimes, we must sacrifice our desire to be right to hear and understand others. We must be able to show concern, value their perspectives, and share ours with respect and love.

In doing this, we will be able to see things from their perspectives, appreciate their opinions and be better informed to share ours. This is one way we extend grace to others.

Spend some time today praying for everyone God has sent to be a helper in your life.
