Topic: EXTENDING GRACE (Part 9)

Text: “Our love for others is our grateful response to the love God first demonstrated to us.” – 1 John 4:19, TPT.

A key reason why many Christians do not easily win others to Christ is that many of us are stuck in a particular way of thinking, so we have difficulty relating with others and accommodating others from a different faith.

Some Christians are quite hostile or afraid of relating with people who think differently from us. You cannot win people this way, and more so, this was not the pattern that Jesus modelled.

Jesus was so understanding of how to win people to the Father that he said (rephrased), “I have not come to relate with those who think like me, but those who think differently from me”. (Luke 5:31-32).

We can extend grace to others by bringing ourselves to see things from their perspectives. We will gain new insight into situations and others as we see things from a different perspective.

Choose to be more accommodating of people, listen with empathy, reach out and not wait to be reached, and extend love and not wait to be loved. This is the example of Christ. This is how we extend grace to others.

Ask the Lord to help you see and love every unbeliever like He does.
