TOPIC: FORGIVE OTHERS (Part 1)
BIBLE TEXT: “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it and let it go), so that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your (own) failings and shortcomings and let them drop.” – Mark 11:25, AMP.

A Christian cannot live without prayer. Prayer is essential to the Christian life. Prayer to God acknowledges his almightiness and our dependence on him. Prayer to God allows him to intervene and interfere in our earthly affairs. There are many things to pray about, such as your family, friends, church, etc. But if you want your prayer to be effective, all offences and grudges against others must be forgiven. Forgive and forget; drop the issue and move on with your life. If you ask God for forgiveness when you sin, you must forgive others first so God will grant you, His mercy. It is unhealthy for bitterness to occupy our hearts as we talk to God. Besides, forgiveness is a gift you give yourself, and it sets you from the bondage of holding grudges against anyone. Forgiveness does not change the past but enlarges the future. Forgiveness is designed to set you free.
