Topic: GOD WANTS TO KEEP YOU FROM EVIL (Part 2).

Bible Text: “But the Lord is faithful. He will give you strength and protect you from the evil one.” – 2 Thessalonians 3:3, ICB.

As our shepherd, God wants to protect us from all forms of evil. A significant advantage of the shepherd’s presence is to keep the sheep from suffering through his guidance, instruction, and counsel. Having a shepherd is important because the shepherd knows and sees many things that the sheep don’t.

The shepherd uses the privileged advantage of his resources. This includes his knowledge and sight to help the sheep. However, there are times when the shepherd is not only protecting the sheep from evil but also delivering the sheep in the face of evil.

God does not just want to deliver you in times of trouble, but he wants to keep you from evil. There is a big difference between keeping and delivering you from evil. There is a difference between God protecting you from inappropriate relationships and God delivering you from bad relationships. There is a difference between God keeping you from bad decisions and God delivering after you have made terrible choices and decisions. There is a difference between God keeping you from embarking on a journey and God delivering you from the evil you faced on a journey.

The shepherd’s joy is to keep the sheep from evil, not just to deliver the sheep from evil. Likewise, the Lord will keep us from evil if we seek his guidance and listen to his instructions.

WISDOM PUSH:

One of the advantages of having God and recognizing him as your shepherd is that he protects you from harm, distress, disgrace, and loss.

In Jesus’ name, I ask today that God’s blessing begins to overflow upon my labour. I am protected.
