Topic: GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY (Part 3)

Bible Text: “After Lot left, the Lord said to Abram, “Look all around you. Look north and south and east and west. All this land that you see, I will give to you and your descendants forever.” – Genesis 13:14-15, ICB.

Once upon a time, Abraham had an encounter with the Lord, and the Lord told him, “I want to do something great in your life, but first, you must leave your father’s house.” Leave your past behind, leave your mistakes behind you, leave your bad experiences behind you, and leave everything negative behind you. In Genesis 13:14, after Lot had separated from him, the Lord told Abraham: “Lift now thine eyes and look from the place you are.” I believe God told him to stop focusing on the past, who left him or what he lost, and look ahead.

There are things that God would allow to happen to you to make you a better person. There are some people God would have to take out of your life. It might look like a loss at the time, but to God, it’s all part of his plan.

Here is what God is saying to you today, “I want you to focus on me and rise above your past. What I have planned for you is better than anything you have ever seen or done.”

1. Don’t punish your future for things you did wrong in the past.
2. It wasn’t a mistake if you learned from it. It was an education.
