GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY (Part 8)

Bible Text: “Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new person. All that is related to the old order has vanished.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

The Bible is a book of divine wisdom through which the Lord guides us and strengthens us as we journey in this world. As we give attention to God’s word, with the help of the holy spirit, we receive practical wisdom for victorious living. As we study God’s word, we see examples of people who rose above their mistakes and those who perished with their mistakes. A good example is Peter and Judas; they both denied and betrayed Jesus for selfish reasons, and they both realised their mistakes. While Judas died with his mistake, Peter rose above his mistake. We also discovered that King Saul did not know how to rise above his mistakes, so he died a failure. Abraham slept with his maid, Jacob deceived his father, and David had a sexual encounter with Beersheba and killed her husband. But what is significant about the stories of these men is that they rose above their mistakes and faced the future with hope. Don’t look like your past, and don’t continue in your errors. Rise above them and step into the future God has prepared for you.

1. You will never rise above the mistakes you don’t learn from.
2. Every mistake from which you learned something was a blessing in disguise.

Lord Jesus, I thank you for my life, and I know you are perfecting all that concerns me.
