TOPIC: GUIDED BY GODLY VALUES (Part 1)

TEXT: “But the Spirit gives love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, self-control…” – Galatians 5:22, ICB.

It was Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers of the United States of America, who said that those who stand for nothing will fall for everything. This speaks to having a strong value system that guides your life.

It is easy to admit you have a value system when asked, but you need to be honest with yourself about whether there is a set of values that guides your life and informs the things you do or accept.

A healthy value system is one indicator of good character.

To judge everything correctly, a Christian must have convictions rooted in God’s word. This is how you determine what should be prioritised and what should be considered secondary.

Everything cannot be equally important to everyone; what matters to us is determined by our value system.

Our values will influence our passion, direction, and decisions. You must make an intentional decision to be rooted in and guided by godly values. This is God’s will for you.
