GUIDED BY GODLY VALUES (Part 2)

Text: “The honest person will live safely. But the one who is dishonest will be caught.” – Proverbs 10:9, ICB.

Personal values are guiding principles and beliefs that help you distinguish between right and wrong. Your values will influence your actions, relationships, and everything you do.

People who allow themselves to be guided by strong values avoid being taken advantage of because they are deliberate in their choices and actions.

The benefit of being a Christian and being taught by the Holy Spirit is that our value system is informed by God’s word and shaped by our reverence for Him.

Any principle or belief that disregards God, undermines His word and challenges His authority is unhealthy for us. These principles, beliefs, and ideologies will mislead us. We must consciously submit our values to the scrutiny of God’s word.

Everything we believe and submit to must be purified by God’s word, and they must be motivated by a desire to please and honour the Lord.

TODAY’S TASK:

Spend some time reflecting on Psalms 90:12.

Any principle or belief that dishonours God and undermines His word and authority over our lives is not healthy for us.
