TOPIC: GUIDED BY GODLY VALUES (Part 3)

TEXT: “Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you…” – Romans 12:2, TPT.

 

In our previous episode, we established that values are guiding principles that influence our behaviour and actions. A person’s values may be positive or negative. They inform our decisions and drive our actions.

Greed, manipulation, attention-seeking, selfishness, dishonesty, and other negative traits are examples of unhealthy values. Indeed, we live in a world of values.

As Christians, negative values keep us from being everything God wants us to be, and they also cause us to harm and disappoint others.

Unfortunately, some Christians are drawn to the world of crime and violence because they still hold negative and unhealthy values and desires.

One of the most important lessons we can take from Romans 12:2 is that we must embrace a new culture as we are renewed by God’s word, and this will help us discern God’s will, allowing us to live beautiful lives for His glory.

Dear friend, as Christians, our ultimate priority must be honouring the Lord and living according to His will for our lives. The beginning point is having the right values guiding your life.

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where you must reassess your values and principles.

Don’t be someone who lives for everyone, or you will lose yourself in the process.
