Topic: HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD (Part 3)

Bible Text: “The true children of God are those who let God’s Spirit lead them.” – Romans 8:14, ICB.

Every child of God should hear and recognise the voice of their father because our confidence in life is in the voice of God. Let’s consider what God’s word says in Matthew 7:24 TPT, “Everyone who hears my teaching and applies it to his life can be compared to a wise man who built his house on an unshakable foundation.”

Also, the Lord declares in Acts 2:17 (TPT), “This is what I will do in the last days — I will pour out my Spirit on everybody and cause your sons and daughters to prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will experience dreams from God.”

So, from these two scriptures, we can see that God speaks through several mediums, including dreams, visions, prophecy and his word. As we study or hear the word of God, we receive and discern his voice. Through a word of prophecy, revelations, encounters in dreams, and through visions the Lord shows us, he communicates to our spirit. Always keep in mind that the counsel of the Lord is a significant advantage in life.

1. Remember that your key distinction is hearing God’s voice.
2. Desire to hear God’s voice in all things.
3. Ask the Lord for an understanding of his ways.
