TOPIC: KNOWING JESUS (Part 1)
BIBLE TEXT: LUKE 9:18-23, 26.

‘And He said to them, “But who do you (yourselves) say that I am?” And Peter replied, “The Christ of God.” Luke 9: 20.

Christianity is more than just knowing and agreeing with what others believe and say. It’s about knowing God personally through Christ. According to the scriptures, Jesus asked His disciples who they thought He was. Many compared Him to Elijah, John the Baptist, or other prophets. But he didn’t care what the crowd said because they were far away from him. Instead, he turned to his closest associates and asked, “What about you? Who do you think I am?” Peter replied: “You are the Son of God”.

Now, this is the question I ask you today, do you know Jesus? Who is He to you? When you accept Him and get to know Him, you can confidently tell others who Jesus is to you.

1. We gain confidence in living as we get to know God better every day.
2. God reveals himself through his Word.
3. As we get to know God better, we have more and more experiences of his power.

TODAY’S PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, I ask you today to open my heart’s eyes so I can see you and get to know you better.
