Topic: LOOK AND LIVE (Part 4)

Text: “Keep your eyes focused on what is right. Keep looking straight ahead to what is good.” – Proverbs 4:25, ICB.

 

The Shunamite woman, whose name is not recorded in the Bible, is one of the most notable women in the Bible. She was exceptional in many ways; she extended hospitality to a servant of God without expecting anything in return. She practically begged God’s servant to accept her kindness. She told him, “If you judge me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.”

Her ministry was to be a source of strength and encouragement to those doing God’s work. Even though she was in need, she continued to serve. Prophet Elisha was unaware that this woman was childless. This is important to note because the prophet’s lack of awareness suggests that her need did not change how she served.

But one outstanding characteristic is that when she lost her son and was asked about him, she replied,  “It is well.” (2 Kings 4:16-37). Her response was prophetic; she could see beyond her present travails. 

I have a question for you: what do you say when confronted with adversity? Do you look past the problems? Are you aware that challenges give birth to miracles? Are you aware that God is always present with us, even in the midst of a storm?

Today, the Lord says to you, “Look beyond now.” Regardless of the obstacles, see possibilities, miracles, and a powerful turnaround.
