TOPIC: LOOKING UNTO GOD FOR ANSWERS (Part 2)
Text: “Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth. If you have faith and do not doubt, you will be able to do what I did to this tree. And you will be able to do more. You will be able to say to this mountain, ‘Go, mountain, fall into the sea.’ And if you have faith, it will happen.” — Matthew 21:21 ICB
Expectation adds value to life to life, and it gives meaning to every pursuit.
For one person, it could be the expectation of a better job or completing significant projects. For another, it could be the expectation of God doing something significant in their family or the desire to be finally free of a particular struggle or difficult situation. Expectation believes in and awaits God’s power and possibilities. God looks out for our expectations, and he honours them. (Proverbs 23:18). This is why we must expect great things from God and attempt great things for God. God’s Word says in Proverbs 10:24, “But the desire of the righteous will be granted.”
It is good to have expectations, and it is dangerous to live without one; nothing should make us live without expectations. Expectations are proof of our faith in God.
A good thing about expectations is that it activates burden and passion in place of prayer. It becomes exciting to stay in the place of prayer when you are consumed by a focus on God and an expectation from God. More so, our expectations from God cause us to take some daring faith steps. Those without expectation do not take faith steps.
Dear friend, I want to remind you today that our God can do all things. This is why we must call on him with expectation because he hears and answers the call of his children. (1 Peter 3:12, Psalms 34:15).
As we end today’s devotional, I want to remind you of God’s Word in Proverbs 23:18, “Surely there is a future and a reward, and your hope and expectation will not be cut off.” Indeed, we have a father dedicated to fulfilling all our good desires.
WISDOM PUSH
Take charge of your life and continue to do the needful; greatness is inevitable when God’s ability meets man’s responsibility.
