Today’s Word: Love so pure (Part 8)
Today’s Bible Reference: Luke 15:20 (ICB) – “So the son left and went to his father. While the son was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. He felt sorry for his son. So, the father ran to him and hugged and kissed him.”
Our God is not just loving; he is the definition of love, and His love towards us is merciful. Because He loves you, he doesn’t treat you as you deserve. Instead of giving you the punishment you deserve for doing wrong, he offers you forgiveness and help to rise above anything that makes you falter.
We can catch a glimpse of God’s love for us as we understudy the story of the prodigal son. The father didn’t turn away from the prodigal son but was waiting to receive his son back home.
The prodigal son’s story is told by Jesus to give us an understanding of God’s love and to let us know that no matter how far we have gone and what we have done, the Father wants us back home – back to his loving arms. Whatever the world promises us, the Father has better. God’s love is rich, pure and merciful.
Today’s Prophetic Declaration:
Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me despite my faults and inconsistencies. Thank you for all you do for me.
