Topic: MAXIMISING THE MOMENTS (Part 9)

Text: “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13, NIV.

Not everyone will believe in you or talk about you the way you want. There is nothing wrong with that. If people do not believe in you, that does not make them bad people; however, you must believe in yourself and not let how others perceive you affect you negatively.

The scriptures record something remarkable. When Goliath came against the armies of Israel, everyone appeared to have lost their voice, intimidated by Goliath’s presence and threat.

Days after Goliath’s threat began, David came into the picture and was ready to confront him. He was prepared to do what no one else dared. Guess what? His brothers watched on the sidelines and began to say negative things to him. They tried to make him feel incapable so that he would withdraw.

But David didn’t let any of this get to him. He recognised his opportunity, believed in his God, and was prepared to seize the moment. His brothers mocked and ridiculed him, but he had a ready reply.

Many times, the best way to reply to naysayers is to stay focused on what you are doing, remain focused on the mission and respond with results.

Those who succumb to the ridicule and mockery of others will achieve nothing. Your naysayers can become your biggest encouragement if only you know how to translate what they say to feed your purpose and pursuits.
