Today’s Word: Obedience is Better
Bible Reference: 1 Samuel 15:22, ERV – “…It is better to obey the Lord than to offer sacrifices to Him…”
One thing that is quite common in church today is to see a person exalt rituals over obedience to God. What do I mean? You can find someone who is active in kingdom service in church, and perhaps, a great giver in church, but they are involved in things that dishonour God. Many believe that their sacrifices will make up for their disobedience, but our God cannot be mocked.
Dear friend, this is not the way to live. God values our obedience to Him above any ritual or service. Sacrifice or service without obedience to God is empty. Our obedience to God’s instruction and submission to his counsel is what reveals true honour.
While our sacrifices and service are awesome, our obedience to God is more important. This is the word of the Lord to us today: obedience to God is more profitable.

My father, help me to obey you fully, even when it costs me.
