TOPIC: ONLY JESUS (Part 6)

Text: “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted.” – John 15:7, NLT.

Dear friends, Only Jesus can give you whatever you need. His word tells us, “If you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done.” (John 15:7).

Whatever the Lord says and promises can be trusted because he embodies the truth. He told us, “I am the truth”. Our greatest undoing will be to doubt God’s word and to live in unbelief. This will cause us to lose too much and live below our father’s will.

While the Father has requested us to ask for anything, and it will be done, we must not forget the preceding statement, “If you abide in me and my words abide in you.”

The word ABIDE means that we must REMAIN. We must stay connected, reject unbelief, find rest in God, and accept his word as true and the authority over our lives. He is not asking us for too much. He wants us to “abide in me” – to trust and submit to him. 

Here is God’s word to us today, “Depend on me, trust me, and keep enjoying fellowship with me.” There is a consequence. “Ask anything, and it shall be done.”

By abiding in Christ, we permit his word to transform our affections, guide our thoughts, and fill our hearts.

TODAY’S DECLARATION

In the name of Jesus, I declare that Christ dwells in me; his spirit fills me and helps me to be consistent with the will of God.
