Topic: ONLY JESUS (Part 9)

Text: “People are made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift. They are made right with God by being made free from sin through Jesus Christ.” — Romans‬ 3‬:24‬, ICB.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Only Jesus can make us right with God. It is widespread, especially in African society, to find certain persons who claim to act as spiritual figures and priests of various deities. 

Many times, these persons claim to serve as intermediaries to their gods. So, they hear the needs of the people and communicate them to their gods, and they receive messages from their gods and relay them to the people.

When the people do wrong, these intermediaries make supplications and sacrifices on their behalf to their gods. 

All of these, however, are abolished in Christ. Choosing that path is the wrong way to live, and it will lead to bondage and slavery. Only Jesus can make someone right with God. We are made right with God when we declare our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and receive him into our hearts by faith.

We no longer need someone else to pray to God on our behalf. We do not need to make any sacrifices to earn God’s love. Our ultimate sacrifice is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ has paid for everything. Jesus Christ has reconciled us to God.

We must maintain this consciousness and continually thank God for this gift of grace that has brought us all things. Only Jesus can make a person right with God.

My father, I thank you for the gift and sacrifice of Jesus. I thank you for the unrestricted access I now have to you. Thank you, Lord Jesus.
