Topic: OPEN TO GROWTH (Part 2)

Text: “The Lord our God spoke to us at Horeb, saying ‘You have stayed long enough on this mountain.” – Deuteronomy 1:6, AMP.

One powerful temptation that we must conquer daily is the temptation to settle. We will often face certain levels of comfort or resistance that may make us want to settle for what is convenient or what we are used to. According to our bible text, God told his people, ‘You have to overcome the temptation to settle – it’s time to move.’

Dear friend, you cannot get to where God wants for you if you refuse to evolve, advance and grow. There is always something better ahead of you.

When you stop climbing, you start sliding. The world is changing fast, and if you are not open to growth, your job, clients, territory, position, and happiness will soon be taken away. 

Once upon a time, Nokia was the world’s biggest phone manufacturer, but it lost out because it failed to evolve, innovate, and respond to change. Samsung and Apple took over the space. These two companies were much faster in learning and changing with the new trends. However, Nokia lost their chance of survival because they missed out on learning and evolving.

You may not be doing anything wrong as a business, career person or minister. But that’s not enough to keep enjoying visibility and patronage. You must be intentional about being open to change and growth.

Many times, we complained that people walked away from us, and they actually responded to our refusal to grow and evolve. You will soon be ignored if your thoughts, mindset, and delivery are not catching up with the times.

Those who refuse to improve will soon become irrelevant. God’s word is saying to us today that we must conquer the temptation to settle; in marriage, business and career, with our gifts and in all areas of our lives.
