TOPIC: OVERCOMING FEAR (Part 2)

Text: “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid, for the Lord your God, He is the one who goes with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6

Fear empowers the devil. Fear attracts defeat and negativity. Anywhere fear is established, the devil keeps winning. Fear is not from God.

There are various forms of fear; fear of an important decision, fear of losing something or someone, fear of an illness, fear of disgrace, fear of another person, fear of dying, fear of the unknown, fear of the future, and many other expressions of fear. All of these are not from God.

Yes, you will come face to face with seasons and challenges where you may not know how to forge ahead, where it seems like nothing is clear and assured, where you feel powerless and everything else.

Here is what must be your focus at such times, “Lord, let your will be done, Lord I am safe in your hands, Lord you are in charge of this, and Lord, this will end in praise.” Choose to express confidence in your God. Whatever is in His hands is very safe.

Many times, the reason we feel afraid and powerless is that we cannot see beyond ourselves. But this begins to change when we truly set our gaze on the Lord.

Tell the Lord, “Father, I may not know what tomorrow holds; I may not know my way around this challenge, but let your will be done.” 

When focus on God becomes the posture of your heart, you will keep overcoming the controlling force of fear.
