Today’s Word: OVERCOMING NEGATIVE INFLUENCES (Part 11)

Today’s Bible Reference: 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (ICB) – “Leave those people, and make yourselves pure,” says the Lord. Touch nothing that is unclean, and I will accept you. I will be your father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord All-Powerful.”

Every believer is an ambassador of the Lord Jesus in this world. We are kingdom envoys and must carry ourselves with dignity.

However, when a Christian forgets their distinctiveness from the world, they begin to adopt worldly ideologies. One such philosophy that some Christians are beginning to adopt is the idea that “Heaven helps those who help themselves.”

While this sounds pleasing to the ears, it contradicts God’s Word.

Our help comes from the Lord, not from self-reliance. Our confidence is in the Lord, not in what we think we can do. (2 Corinthians 12:9). Our boast is in God and God alone. As a Christian, you must be careful not to adopt ideologies that contradict the scriptures.
