Today’s Word: OVERCOMING NEGATIVE INFLUENCES (Part 12)

Today’s Bible Reference: John 14:15 (AMPC)—“If you really love me, you will keep (obey) my commands.” 

God’s instructions and counsels are always for our benefit. There is nothing in God’s word that is crafted to work against us. 

One of God’s powerful instructions to us is found in Galatians 6:7, which tells us that “Whatever a person sows, he will reap.” Here is the wisdom in this scripture: God desires that we be guided by His Spirit in every decision that impacts both our present and future.

Towards this end, we must be careful of fellow believers who clearly abuse God’s grace. These individuals may claim to be believers but live in a manner contrary to everything God’s Word presents. They may be church folks, but they obviously delight in sin and compromise. We are instructed to live in the fear of the Lord.

Living in the fear of the Lord means loving Him so deeply that we consciously avoid anything that would hurt His heart. By embracing and submitting to God’s counsel, we will gain the strength to reject every negative influence.

My prayer for you is that your life will continue to bring glory to the Lord.
