Topic: PEACE LIKE A RIVER (Part 1)

Text: “But the spirit gives love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.”-Galatians 5: 22, ICB.

In Psalms 23:2, the Bible says that God lets us lie down in green pastures and he leads us beside the still and quiet waters.

Green pastures speak of a fruitful and productive space. The green pastures are often soft enough to sit or lie down comfortably.

The Greek word ‘shalom’ translates to peace. It also means wholeness or completeness, welfare, and safety.

The spirit of God in us produces peace. This peace makes us fruitful and productive; in other words, it gives us room to grow and prosper. We get to ‘lie down’ in green pastures, meaning we are at rest and safe, surrounded by abundance.

As we yield to the spirit of God, he gives us wisdom and guides us in the things that lead to a peaceful and prosperous life.

No matter how difficult the instructions of God may seem, they are always for our good, and they will always give us peace.

I pray for you that God’s peace is rich in your heart today.

If God’s spirit does not lead us, we should not expect to ‘lie down in green pastures’.

By the strength of God in me, I am stronger than I was yesterday. I receive the strength to do today what I have not been able to do before in Jesus’ name.
