TOPIC: STAY ON COURSE (PART 4)

Text: “So submit to the authority of God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.” – James 4:7, AMP.

The crown of honour is always for those who can stay on course and win over what could have made them fail.

Life is full of stories about people who started well but became distracted, resulting in failure.

Some marriages would still be flourishing today if not for distractions. Some churches would still be thriving in God’s purpose today if not for distractions. Some people would have remained relevant today if not for distractions. Some students would have remained distinction candidates if not for distractions.

God’s word tells us in Matthew 6:24 that no one can serve two masters. This scripture underscores the value of focus.

Dear friend, find out what has the potential to make you deviate from the right path. Identify the things that could make you lose out in your pursuits. Discern what can make you lose the goodwill you enjoy from people. Discern what has the potential to quench your godly appetite and desire for the things of God.

Discern it and guard against it. Protect yourself from it. Satan came to the garden to tempt Eve; he was a distraction to all her possibilities, but she failed to discern it.

If you don’t fight and win over distractions, distractions will determine your outcomes. Distractions will hinder you from being noticed in life and by people who matter.

You must overcome all distractions if you want to be a blessing to your generation.
