TOPIC: STAY ON COURSE (PART 9)

Text: “In all labour there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” – Proverbs 14:23, AMP.

 

Walt Disney, the legendary American film producer, once stated, “The best way to get started is to quit talking and start doing.” If you are going to be truly happy, you must win over procrastination. 

We can also access God’s mind regarding procrastination from the scriptures. In Luke 9:62, “Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize it now.”

Procrastination is a negative attitude. It is the mindset that says, “I will do it tomorrow,” “This can wait until later,” or “I don’t feel like doing it right now.” It is the desire for perfect conditions or exceptional moments that drives this mindset and emotions.

There will never be perfect conditions to get started or to keep going; it is important to get started and stay on course, and you will keep making corrections and adjustments along the way. 

In Ephesians 5:15-17, we are encouraged to live wisely by making good use of every opportunity. I believe that winning over procrastination and using our time effectively is a big secret to success.

Dear friend, God has given us the same amount of time; how our life turns out is a true reflection of how we use our time.
