TOPIC: THE ALMIGHTY GOD (PART 6)

Text: “The Lord says, I will give you back what you lost…” – Joel 2:25, NLT.

Another powerful insight about the almighty God is that he is the perfect restorer. When he restores, he doesn’t just make things new and return them to their original condition. He makes things better, whole, and more glorious. When he restored Job, he gave him twice what he had before. (Job 42:10 – 17).

From Job’s story, we learn how, in one day, he lost his ten children along with all his possessions and wealth.

Shortly after, he was afflicted with a horrible skin disease. Job didn’t understand why he had to go through so much pain. So, throughout the book of Job, we see him express sadness and fury at the agony and suffering that God had allowed. We also see evidence of his impatience regarding how long it took God to restore him.

Yet through it all — and despite his human emotions — Job never doubted the importance of submission and trust in God. He even says in Job 1:21b, “The LORD gave me what I had, and the LORD has taken it away. Praise the name of the LORD!”

Even though bad things were happening to him, he believed God had a plan for his life and kept looking up to God. As a result, his confidence in God grew, and he experienced a powerful restoration in his life. The Lord blessed him with double what he had before.

Dear friend, no matter the situation, believe in the power of our God to restore. Declare his restoration power where you desire to see it. Our God can be trusted; he is the perfect restorer.
