Topic: THE BLESSING OF A CHURCH FAMILY (Part 2)

Text: “Let us think about each other to show love and do good deeds. You should not stay away from church meetings as some are doing. But you should meet together and encourage each other. Do this even more as you see the day coming.” Hebrews 10:24-25, ICB.

Before we proceed into today’s teaching, I want to encourage you to take time to reflect and meditate on today’s bible text.

If you’ve ever tried and failed to be consistent in your Christian walk, you know how important accountability is in the Christian life. Embracing the wisdom and discipline of accountability is a huge step but also a blessing. It is beautiful to know that you are part of a church family, there are people you are accountable to, and as you live daily, you know you are an extension of an amazing community.

Any relationship that assists you in tracking your spiritual progress, resisting temptation, deepening your understanding of God, and growing your Christian character and faith is a form of accountability.

Dear friend, we can live in sin and constantly convince ourselves that everything is fine if no one or nothing holds us accountable.

We must intentionally and purposefully cultivate pleasant Christian relationships that point us to Christ and align us with His will. We must resist the temptation to live lonely and isolated lives and instead ask God to direct us to spiritually mature and wise people within our church family with whom we can enjoy godly, accountable relationships—no one who is truly strong stands alone.

WISDOM PUSH

A godly relationship will draw you closer to God, not closer to sin.
