Topic: THE BLESSING OF A CHURCH FAMILY (Part 3)
Text: “Let us think about each other to show love and do good deeds. You should not stay away from church meetings as some are doing. But you should meet together and encourage each other. Do this even more as you see the day coming.” –Hebrews 10:24-25, ICB.
Today’s devotional continues our focus on accountability. One significant benefit of accountability to our church is that it motivates us to grow closer to the Lord Jesus. We will learn to rely on one another for biblical wisdom, encouragement, support, and direction as we build trusting and supportive relationships within our church family.
Being accountable to one another should not make us feel vulnerable; it should make us feel strong because we know that though one may chase a thousand, two will put ten thousand to flight.
Sadly, accountability is largely absent in the church today. Most Christians are not accountable to their church leadership and the systems put in place. We must reject the negative voices that want us to find flaws in the virtue of accountability. You may have had some unpleasant experiences in the past, but this should not discourage you.
We must intentionally build active relationships with other members of our church family, be willing to lean on others and become trustworthy and dependable.
WISDOM PUSH
You can never go wrong when you hate what God hates; you gain so much when you love what God loves.
