TOPIC: THE BLESSING OF FOCUS (Part 6)

Bible Text: “Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions.” – Proverbs 4:25, TPT.

Many of those who achieve greatness among us do not have exceptional skills; instead, they have exceptional focus. They decide what to stay focused on and stick to it. While others are easily distracted, they focus on their goals, abilities, and opportunities.

Consider the following nuggets to help us succeed in the discipline of focus.

  1. Prioritise your responsibilities. Setting priorities helps you figure out what is important in your life and what can wait. It also helps us not base our lives on what others think we should care about.

  1. Learn to say “no”. If you try to take on everything good that comes your way, you will not excel at what you were created or assigned to do. It takes discipline to recognise a distraction, no matter how it disguises itself. It is not wise to scatter your energies all over the place.

It is not everything you can do that you must do. You must not keep saying “YES” to everything and everyone. Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ.” He didn’t say, “I will do all things through Christ.”

WISDOM PUSH

  1. Don’t focus on what you cannot change; focus powerfully on the things you can change.
  2. Always remember that your reality can change depending on your focus.
