TOPIC: THE BLESSING OF FOCUS (Part 7)

Bible Text: “Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions.” – Proverbs 4:25, TPT.

Great people understand that it is impossible to focus effectively on two important things at the same time. This is a discipline that guides them. If you are indeed going to live life with a sense of focus and purpose, you must identify what is good, what is important, and what is necessary. This is to avoid chasing after too many things and scattering your energies and resources all over the place without accomplishing much. However, it is easy to say “no” when your priorities are in order.

The ability to say ‘no’ to certain things even when you have the capacity and the resources is important. You can’t afford to walk through every open door, and you can’t afford to say ‘yes’ to every opportunity. So you must discipline yourself to focus on the things that truly matter. Saying no to certain things means you know your limits and have a good understanding of yourself. Respect and take care of yourself; learn to say no to certain things and people and don’t feel guilty about it.

WISDOM PUSH

  1. Do not say “maybe” when you should say “no”.
  2. Those who want you to always say “yes” are not looking out for your best interests.
  3. You don’t have to explain yourself every time you say “no” to people.

In Jesus’ name, I am living a productive life in accordance with God’s will for my life.
