Topic: THE DANGER OF PRAYERLESSNESS (Part 2)

Text: “For when you live controlled by the flesh, you are about to die. But if the life of the Spirit puts to death the corrupt ways of the flesh, we then taste his abundant life.” – Romans 8:13

One of the disadvantages of prayerlessness is that it causes us to become slaves to our flesh, and we become vulnerable to sin and compromise. Prayerlessness will empower our flesh to control us.

One way to win over prayerlessness is to see it as a sin. Don’t try to belittle it or sugar-coat it. Indeed, prayerlessness is a sin because it results from our flesh winning over the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Prayerlessness shows you are yielding to your flesh. God’s word tells us in Galatians 5:17 that the flesh wants what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit wants what is against the flesh. We are admonished to allow ourselves to be led by the Spirit.

Dear friend, to conquer prayerlessness, you must die daily. You must consciously kill your flesh daily so that the power of the Holy Spirit will prevail in all areas of your life.

Sin will hinder your prayer life, but giving yourself to prayer will weaken your appetite for sin.

Declare victory over the control of sin, and do this as often as you can daily.
