TOPIC: THE FRUITS OF FAITH (Part 2)

TEXT: “Do what God’s teaching says; do not just listen and do nothing. When you only sit and listen, you are fooling yourselves.” – – James 1:22, ICB.

We live in a time when people disregard, reject or argue with the counsel of the Lord. Some say that what we call the counsels of the Lord are fabrications and concoctions of individuals seeking to manipulate and control our minds. They are incorrect in their conclusions.

We must be careful not to follow the flawed reasoning of those who have no regard for God. 

Every believer led by the Holy Spirit must be able to identify and discern God’s counsel; our spirit bears witness to God’s wisdom.

As we discern and recognise God’s counsel, we must heed them carefully. Today’s church is filled with worshippers who note everything the preacher says, but many do not commit to the powerful spiritual counsels they receive.

Dear friend, faith in God is fake if there are no fruits of obedience. We must demonstrate that we trust and have faith in God by committing to His word.

Even when it’s not convenient for us and when we see others profiting from what seems to be the opposite of God’s counsel, we must stay committed to the counsel and instructions of the Lord. Our faith and obedience must always go together.

Take some time to meditate on Matthew 6:24.

Faith is about trusting God even when you have unanswered questions.
